This beautiful necklace is made by Verde Alfieri from Italy. The paper elements are hand cut and punched in oval disks one by one, mounted by hand on a metal wire in order to create a spiral effect. Materials used are paper, metal wire, brass rings and brass lobster closure.
Paper: The paper used for the jewelry is produced in Italy by a paper mill that does not use chemicals to produce and color it. The jewel is very light, the craftsmanship allows the long-lasting maintenance of the structure of each jewel. The small size and quantity of paper elements used allows the paper not to retain moisture or sweat for a long time, evaporating. Verde uses scissors or a small punch die-cutter to cut papers.
Verde combines precious papers and recycled papers in elements that pass through the blending of influences and styles that are perceived as her full inspiration. Modernity and uniqueness are embodied in jewels with incredible shapes and colors that recall Africa, the Middle East, Latin America but also the Italian territories, where jewelry has deep roots in Italian artistic traditions.
Verde was a finalist at the Global Eco Artisan Awards organized by AGAATI. As a part of promoting artisans work AGAATI gives back 100% of the sales to Verde for this necklace.
