Hand Woven Wool Throw

This eco-friendly throw is made by the artisans of House of Hindee, a sustainable women centric fashion, textile and lifestyle brand. Their product is a 100% natural, ethically made woolen textile what they like to call, The Himalayan Tweed. It is created using zero electricity, zero chemicals and generates zero waste and the entire process of sorting, spinning, weaving and felting is done by hand, by the women artisans of Himachal. HOH has contributed immensely in safeguarding a traditional art form which is slowly getting extinct due to the mechanized nature of the industry. They convert this beautiful textile into clothing, lifestyle accessories and home goods.

Once the wool is bought from the Gaddi Tribal sheep herders, providing them with fair wages and ethical trade practices, the process of hand sorting the wool into different natural colours begins. Upon sorting, the wool is then washed by hand using a natural plant root called the soap nut; to be then dried naturally in the Himalayan sunlight. Once the wool is dried and sorted by colour, it is ready to be hand spun on the spinning wheel called the Charkha. The Charkha is a small handmade mechanical object which does not need any electricity to operate, hence making it an environmentally positive tool of creation.

All the raw wool is spun various times on the Charkha by hand to create small balls of wool, by the tribal women of Himachal. Once the wool balls are ready, the process of setting the original wooden loom begins and the setting up of the warp and weft strands of wool as per the desired pattern is done. The wool is then hand woven into beautifully intricate and graphic patterns to either create our iconic throws or to create the tweed yarn.

If for any reason you are not 100% happy with your AGAATI purchase, we will gladly process returns back to original form of payment for items purchased within 15 days. 

The items that are pre-ordered or customized for the customers for size, fit and design are not refundable. 

You can return items purchased on www.agaati.com  within 15 days of the delivery date. Here’s how: 

1. Send a return request by using Contact Us form. Please fill the order number, reason for return and any other details. Send this form to us through www.agaati.com.

2. We will send you a shipping label by email.

3. Make sure the merchandise you return is in its original condition, tags attached and packaging is included. Otherwise we will be unable to accept your return and issue a refund

4. For purchases within  USA, Use the pre-paid label included in your email and leave the package at a UPS drop-off location. 

5. Please note that all SALE items are Final sale (non-refundable). 

For international purchases we request you to send the returns at your cost.

Once your package reaches the warehouse, please allow 3 to 7 business days (depending on peak times) for your return to be processed. If your return does not meet the conditions listed, the package will be sent back to you. When your return has been accepted, your refund will be issued and you will receive a confirmation email. All markdown items are considered Final Sale and cannot be returned.

AGAATI monitors returns to identify potential misuse or abuse of our return policies. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

* Please only send returns using our pre-paid return labels so that we can track your stuff. We cannot refund a lost return that was sent using a method other than our return labels.
