Saloni Shrestha is a Parsons The New School alumna and a creative entrepreneur with over 24 years of global experience across corporate leadership, fashion design, brand building, and artisanal production.
Her early career includes nine years in corporate leadership roles managing marketingteams across the Asia-Pacific region, where she led regional brand strategy,communications, and business growth initiatives. This experience continues to shapeher strategic approach to building purpose-driven brands with global relevance.
After transitioning into fashion, Saloni’s training at Parsons laid a strong foundation indesign thinking and technical precision. This was further refined through training atleading fashion houses including Oscar de la Renta, Diane von Furstenberg, and Naeem Khan. Working within these ateliers deepened her understanding of luxury, silhouette, and craftsmanship, as well as the discipline behind exceptional dressmaking.
Having built and operated fashion businesses in Singapore and the United States, Saloni brings a truly global perspective to design, entrepreneurship, and sustainable fashion. Her work has been featured in Teen Vogue, LA Magazine, Martha Stewart, and the San Francisco Chronicle, and has been worn by global tastemakers including
Jennifer Lopez.
Saloni has presented AGAATI at New York Fashion Week, where the brand stood out
for its artisanal depth and conscious approach. This platform marked a significant moment in bringing her design philosophy to a global audience - one that bridges heritage craftsmanship with modern luxury.
Driven by her belief that creativity should never come at the cost of ethics, Saloni co- founded Salvie Design Atelier LLP, an ethical small-batch sampling and production studio based in New Delhi. The atelier supports designers seeking responsible manufacturing partners while creating dignified livelihoods for skilled makers. Here, Saloni works closely with a team of tailors and hand embroiderers, mentoring them in world-class standards of fit, draping, and finishing.
Through AGAATI, Saloni continues to redefine sustainable luxury fashion - creating womenswear that celebrates craftsmanship, empowers women, and connects communities through thoughtful design.
Her commitment to social impact extends through the AGAATI Foundation, where she launched the Global Eco Artisan Awards - an initiative dedicated to celebrating and elevating artisan communities across the world.
A native of the Himalayan region, Saloni draws inspiration from nature, textiles, and cultural diversity. Her work reflects a deep belief in building a future where fashion, sustainability, and community coexist with purpose and beauty.
