I am a happy health freak. I have always been very conscious about how to keep me and my family healthy. This is why our family has been eating completely organic for years. I have been nitpicking the food industry but it never occurred to me that the clothes that I and my kids wear are loaded with pesticides and other chemical dyes and are constantly in touch with our skin. I wondered how could I miss it, that is when I started researching and realised perhaps this should have been a priority for me much sooner…
Now that I have been doing a lot of research on Sustainable clothing. Off lately I came across an article where I read that cotton is one of the most sprayed crops in the world, making it one of the most chemically treated crops. World Health Organization up to 20,000 deaths each year are caused by pesticide poisoning in developing countries during the manufacturing process. Its ironic that we eat organic while we wear chemicals!
As a consumer, we have the power to bring the change. It is easy to take the increase in organic food consumption for granted – the increase didn’t come about by any accident or chance; it was necessitated by high consumer demand and awareness! By opting for what is right for you and your loved ones, we need to arm ourselves with more awareness!
